Every registered adult social care service must return the Provider Information Return once a year — online, within four weeks of CQC's email to your Registered Manager. It shapes how CQC sees you before anyone visits. We help you get the numbers right and tell one coherent story across all five Key Questions.
What the PIR is
The PIR arrives as an emailed link to your Registered Manager, usually around the anniversary of your registration or first inspection, and each registered service completes its own return. Since 2024 the questions have been aligned with CQC's assessment framework, and what you write feeds CQC's continuous monitoring — it can prompt questions, shape an assessment and be quoted back to you.
Two kinds of answer, and both have to hold up:
PIR evidence speaks most directly to these Quality Statements:
Extensions are granted only in exceptional circumstances and must be requested in writing — plan to hit the four-week window.
How Haverton helps
Every engagement is delivered by a former CQC Registered Manager who has taken a service to a Good rating, and is scoped in writing before work starts.
£75
per session
A focused one-to-one read of your draft answers by phone or video: where the numbers do not reconcile, where a narrative undersells you, and what to fix before you submit. You leave with the corrections and next steps written down.
Scoped individually
priced in writing before work starts
We assemble the return with you: gather and reconcile the Numbers, draft the Narratives across all five Key Questions, check every answer against your Statutory Notifications, Statement of Purpose and Policies so the documents tell one story, and review the final return before you submit it.
From £59
a month · Haverton Care Portal
Audits with scoring, Actions and Evidence collected as you go in the Haverton Care Portal — so when the email lands, your figures and your improvement story are already sitting in one place instead of being rebuilt in a four-week scramble.
Before you press submit
Independent consultancy: not endorsed by, affiliated with, or acting on behalf of the Care Quality Commission. Support never guarantees a rating, an assessment outcome or a processing time; those decisions rest entirely with CQC, and the PIR is your own account of your service, which must reflect it truthfully. Haverton Care Limited is not currently registered for VAT. No VAT is added to the prices shown.
Tell us your service type and your deadline date. We will scope the right level of support in writing the same day, and you submit knowing the return holds together.
